Michael A Butler, 30, of Loris, South Carolina, was arrested Tuesday in connection to a fatal, three-vehicle crash. He is charged with felony driving under the influence.
The police report said Butler smelled of alcohol, slurred his speech, was unsteady on his feet and got in the way of emergency workers at the scene of the accident after he was treated by EMS. He failed three field sobriety tests, and blew 0.19% on a Breathalyzer test at the police department.
Butler allegedly struck another vehicle while traveling south in the northbound lanes of US Hwy 17, and the force of the impact pushed both cars into a pickup. The passenger in Butler's vehicle, Mitchell White, 28, also of Loris, was not wearing a seat belt, and died as a result of his injuries. Those in the other vehicles involved suffered only minor injuries.
We're glad of one thing: Butler had his head examined:

But we fear that won't really help anything. Don't drink and drive: we don't want to post your sorry mug here too.

Are you implying by your remark, that his head was examined, and they could not find either of his brain cells?

Lenny, you beat me to it. I was going to say "but they didn't find anything", but I like your comment better. Cheers pal.

After the wound to his eye has healed, he can look really cool wearing an eye patch.
