Sure all parents do this. Haven't you ever seen "America's Funniest Home Videos" (or as I refer to it "America's Sadistic Home Videos"). Not only is it okay and funny. There is nothing, at all, wrong with it unless, and until, someone is dead. Then everyone finally stops laughing long enough, to say, "Oh my gosh, that is wrong...Oh (he,he) here is another video."

I am glad you started off by mentioning these people are from N. Carolina. I am soo happy it was not here in Florida, given all the crazies here. Actually, if it occur here, the Dept of Family and Child Welfare would have taken this poor child away. What is worse, that is an ordeal harder on the child than one can imagine. The foster care people here have lost track of children and one of them, at least, was presumed dead. Life can be harsh, and it should not be, for a toddler.

OK, lets get a grip here. While I will admit these two are not fit for parenthood but only because they have already made a mess of their own lives. The fact that the child was not taken from the home clearly says that they really don't have much of a case for anything other than 'we will hold this over your head later'. This is a prime example where law enforcement has probably overplayed it and just another reason why I got out of law enforcement almost 30 years ago. As Joseph in Wisconsin pointed out they do this and worse on "America's Funniest Home Videos" where I have seen people that did get hurt if only minor injuries. I think we need to stop criminalizing everything people do. OK, I'll get off my soapbox now.
