bullet  To Save A Dollar

A man boarded a city bus in Chicago, Ill., last Wednesday, dropped a dollar in the fare box, and headed back toward a seat.

"Put another dollar in or show me your bus pass," the driver said, "or you're going to have to leave the bus,"

Adan Valle, 18, took the logical sort of approach we all would: he allegedly punched the driver and tried to leap out the door. But it was closed, and he couldn't get through.

When he was unable to leave the bus, Valle allegedly returned to beating on the bus driver -- this time with a hammer.

"Just out of the blue, he started hitting him," said the unnamed witness. "You never seen it coming, he just came out of the blue and hit him."

The driver fought back while passengers began dialing 911 for help.

"Why would somebody do this over a dollar?" asked a woman on the bus.

Once Valle dropped the hammer, the driver was able to get him into a headlock. Valle tried to escape via the driver's open window, and a witness blocked his way, but there was no need: the headlock was firm, even though the driver "was bleeding from every angle on his head," the main witness said.

Once the police took Valle into custody, the driver, who was still bleeding profusely, had just one concern: had everyone had managed to get off the bus safely?

By that evening the driver was was "resting comfortably" in the hospital.

And Valle was resting comfortably in jail, held on $400,000 bail.

But Valle did get the last laugh: police gave him a ride to jail absolutely free!

Just wait until he gets his hands on a firearm! I can almost guarantee that this young man will be a career criminal. The look in his eyes is dead! Very frightening, 'cause you just know there's some do-gooder judge out there who will believe there is full rehabilitation in this thugs life and will set him back out on the streets to terrorize the good citizens of his "great" city! Been to Chicago a few times and, I can honestly say, I have no great want or need to return. I always felt menaced and uncomfortable! And highly alert! What a pit!!!

As punishment, Valle should get a job as a driver, himself. Make him drive a school bus. (We grow them mean here in Florida. Sorry).

What did the kids do to deserve that?! -rc

Wow, from the mugshot, that must have been SOME headlock! Props to the bus driver!
