When you can't deny your crime, hide the evidence!

Terry Barnes, of Olinghouse, Nev. was arrested on April 3 after he allegedly beat a woman in eastern Washoe County, Nev., after she called 911 for help.

While dispatch listened on the line, Barnes allegedly threatened the woman, whose name has not been released, and beat her. Sheriff's deputies report that they could hear the man ordering her around as he beat her.

When deputies arrived, they arrested Barnes, but couldn't find the woman. After a lengthy search they found her -- under the house in the crawlspace, hidden under a sheet of tin and other debris.

The woman was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries that she sustained from allegedly being pushed out of a moving vehicle and being beaten.

Barnes is facing charges of domestic battery using strangulation, domestic battery, obstruction and resisting a police officer, false imprisonment, and interruption of a 911 call. He is being held on $21,627 bail.

Hopefully the deputies searched under the house really carefully -- we can't help but wonder if there are more bodies down there.

In defense of "the ol' weed bowl," I think he was smokin' something else. I never heard of someone smokin' weed that could get off the sofa long enough to do all that beatin' and shoutin' and orderin' around.

But what I wanna know is...what was that woman smoking that led her to hide herself in the crawl space rather than walk out the door?

Lynn, by the sounds of it he forced her under the house & then hid her with the tin & debris. I don't think she went there willingly.

Definitely not smoking weed, then. That's way too much work! (I don't wanna confuse anyone -- I'm not making light of a battered woman in a bad situation.)
