bullet  The Bucket List

Patricia D. Edwards was arrested March 26 after she allegedly robbed a bank to complete an item on her "bucket list".

Edwards claimed that robbing the bank was part of her "bucket list," saying "I think everyone should have a list of things they want to do before they expire." But according to police in DeLand, she accomplished this a full two weeks earlier in the month when she allegedly robbed a Bank of America Branch.

Edwards was arrested in a DeLand, Fla., motel after allegedly robbing a different Bank of America near Sanford on March 23. They say she walked up to a teller and handed her a note that read, "I HAVE A GUN I WILL USE IT DON'T TOUCH NO BUTTONS". Officers said that when the teller didn't respond at first, the woman reached into her purse and started to pull out what appeared to be the handgrip of a gun wrapped in a plastic bag. Edwards then collected the loot -- $50 and $100 bills that the teller pulled out of her drawer -- and left the bank.

In an interview with a television station, Edwards said, "There was no plan, no nothing, just impulse."

While details of that case have not been made public, an arrest affidavit shows that Edwards' relatives contacted Crime Stoppers with a tip about "Aunt Trisha" who was bragging about how she had robbed the Bank of America in DeLand. Relatives then identified Edwards from surveillance photos taken from the two robberies.

Edwards, who suffers from non-terminal leukemia and bipolar disorder, says she was not taking her medication at the time of either incident. She remains jailed on $20,000 bail and is charged with two counts of robbery.

She may have a bucket list, but she sounds like she'll end up her life in the can.

I have already started a "bucket list", even though I don't hope to need it for another 40 years, and item one will still be the same then --

Do not get sent to jail.

I have no desire to end up there.

I also agree with Lenny -- looks like a man.

In jail, Pat will receive treatment for her leukemia and bi-polar disorder courtesy of the taxpayers. Maybe she's not so crazy after all.

"Non-terminal leukemia and bipolar disorder."

I wonder what would happen if prisoners were billed for room and board and forced into hard labor to pay for their upkeep? Think the crime rate would be the same?
