bullet  Oh Captain My Captain

A police officer patrolling in Chicago, Ill., had to slam on his brakes to avoid a collision when a Ford Crown Victoria came screeching into the street -- in reverse -- without warning. He pulled the car over.

The driver gave his license, but refused to provide proof of insurance. The officer asked the driver to step out of the car, but the driver refused, saying he "didn't have to" because he's a cop. The officer asked for the driver's police identification.

He didn't have it with him, the driver said, but he works for the Cook County sheriff's police. The officer again asked for police identification, but the driver said he "didn't have to" provide anything, since he's a cop.

"I don't have to show you anything," the driver said, according to the resulting police report. "I do what I do. I already told you was an officer working for Cook County, call my captain." He provided a phone number.

By then the officer had a supervisor there backing him up, and they called the captain at the Cook County sheriff's police department to ask if the driver, Obadiah Davis, 28, worked for him. The answer: yes and no. No, Davis wasn't a sheriff's officer. Yes, Davis works for him at the private security firm he owns.

Davis was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer -- and negligent driving and driving without insurance.

"But call back in an hour," the captain said, "and ask again so I can say 'No, he doesn't work for me in any capacity.'"

OK, either I missed something or Mike in Dallas did. Where does it say he worked for the TSA? It only says a "private" security firm that a Capt of the Cook County Sheriffs owns privately. He could work for TSA they aren't that smart.

They are gonna have fun with him when he gets to court, let alone prison.

Is the last line a real quote, or is it a tagline?

It's great either way; I'm just curious.
