bullet  Not the First Criminal to Load His Pants

Chamil Guadarrama, 20, is a slick character. A clerk at the Bath & Body Works store in Springfield, Mass., said she saw Guadarrama putting skin lotion through the fly in his pants and notified mall security.

When Eastfield Mall security officers Jane Colon and Jeff Lawlor tried to apprehend Guadarrama, he ran -- but not very fast. He "had a hard time running and was extremely bowlegged" from the multiple glass bottles of lotion in his pants, Colon said.

Colon and Lawlor held him for police, but "They could not fit Mr. Guadarrama into the cruiser because his pants were bursting at the seams and he could not bend over," a police spokesman said. Here's what the police search found in Guadarrama's trousers:

In total, Guadarrama had 75 8-fluid-ounce, $10.50 retail, bottles of lotion in his pants -- more than 4-1/2 gallons of lotion. (Then consider the weight of the 75 glass bottles!) The bottom of his pants were tied with string to keep the bottles from dropping out his pant legs.

Local perverts estimated it was nearly a week's supply of lotion.

You'd think with that much lotion he could have gotten a smooth getaway.

I'm pretty sure the bottles are in fact plastic, but even so, that's a LOT of individual bottles. I wish there was a photo of the guy with the bottles in his pants. The mental image I'm getting is hilarious.

4-1/2 gallons of lotion seems like a lot to trot around in, so I did a quick calc.

If the lotion was roughly the same density as fresh water it weighs 8.35 lb/gallon or 37.6 lbs (not counting the containers).

That's quite a load for anybody's shorts.
