It was Saturday, May 8 -- the day before Mother's Day. Seth Bullen wanted in to his family home in -- yes -- Commando Village, a housing unit at Hurlburt Field, itself a portion of Eglin Air Force Base in northwest Florida.
The 21-year-old man had returned to his home at about 10:45 in the morning to load items from his bedroom into his father's pickup truck. When he began walking back toward the house, his mother closed the front door, fearing he was armed. She was in the midst of locking the door when she heard gunshots. Six of them.
Apparently she was right about him being armed.
Bullen's father immediately grabbed their other two children, who were also home at the time, and took them upstairs for safety.
When Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputies arrived, they found six .45-caliber shell casings. According to their report, the door had been shot six times. Bullen denied shooting the door and told them that he had lit firecrackers on the doorknob.
Riiiiiight.
Deputies also found the pistol, which had been previously reported stolen, marijuana packaged to be sold, a scale, and prescription medication (but no prescription for it).
Bullen was charged with aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling, use of a firearm under the influence of alcohol, possessing marijuana with the intent to sell, possessing a controlled substance without a prescription, and theft of a firearm.
According to the report, Bullen's blood alcohol content was 0.08 percent that morning.
Bullen is already in legal trouble after an incident at a Burger King in nearby Mary Esther, Fla., on December 30. Police were called to the restaurant after Bullen allegedly brought a beer in to have with his meal. After the manager threw him out, Bullen allegedly came back and threw the bottle of beer through the restaurant's glass door, causing about $1,000 damage.

Hope you had a nice Mother's Day, Mrs. Bullen.

In what will soon be universally recognized as The Understatement Of The Year, this guy has anger management issues.
When your own mother is locking you out of the house, perhaps it's time to re-evaluate your lifestyle.

Anger management may be the root of his problems, but he has serious legal problems which will probably land him in a cell in a state penitentiary. He better hope he doesn't get a roomie who is six foot six inches in height, weighs over 250 lbs, with all of it being pure gin and muscle, wants a new girlfriend, and is in for a life sentence.

Reading this with a mother's perspective, my heart goes out to his mother (& dad). They probably did what they could for him all his life and he still turned out to be a loser. But he'll still always be their son and their hearts will be broken over and over again. I know. :'o(
