bullet  Heat of the Moment

Sheriff's deputies in Seminole County, Fla., believe that it all started as an argument about sex.

In the early morning hours last Wednesday, a fight allegedly broke out between Ryan Burkhart, 22, and his girlfriend, at their apartment in Lake Mary. Neighbors, overhearing the fight that started out a verbal argument and turned physical, called 911. Eyewitnesses said that they saw a naked Burkhart chase his girlfriend out of the apartment, screaming that he would set it on fire.

When deputies arrived, Burkhart was gone, but the building was in flames. Neighbors had to be evacuated.

"Really? Is this happening right now?" one neighbor asked. "I mean, who sets a fire in their apartment?"

Firefighters were able to knock out the fire in about 20 minutes, but when the flames were out, Burkhart's apartment was gutted and another neighboring apartment had suffered smoke damage.

Burkhart, who had been hiding naked nearby, turned himself in about four hours later. He is currently charged with aggravated assault and possession of drug paraphernalia but the charges may be amended later to include felony arson.

WAIT! He was naked AND he had drug paraphernalia? I was going to ask... never mind, TMI

Why am I not surprised that "possession of drug paraphernalia" was one of the charges?

It truly is amazing how some of these idiots literally and figuratively shoot themselves in at least one foot if not both feet. Sounds like they'll have fun with him in court. Hopefully, no one will die laughing from his excuses for what happened.
