bullet  Get Off My Lawn, Punk!

Charles J. Clements, 69, was proud of the lawn in front of his University Park, Ill., house. He even won the town's "beautification and lawn upkeep award". But he was known to threaten people who stepped upon his pride and joy.

Joshua Funches, 23, was out walking his puppy, "Gucci", a fox terrier. As he passed Clements' house, Gucci lifted his leg and peed on the lawn. Clements rushed out to confront him.

An argument ensued, and Clements, a retired truck driver, pulled a gun, witnesses say.

Funches, a former Marine, wasn't intimidated. "Next time you pull out a pistol, why don't you use it?" he said.

Bad move. Witnesses say Clements fired, killing Funches instantly.

Funches had two children, with another on the way.

Clements went in and changed his clothes. "I knew you were coming for me," he told police when they arrived. "That's why I changed my clothes. I knew you were coming for me."

Clements was booked for murder. A judge set his bail at $3 million.

I was in a bar one time, and someone was being exceptionally irritating. Someone else took exceptional offense and drew a handgun on him. This Brain Trust looked at the muzzle pointed at him and declared with all certainty, "You can't shoot me; you'll go to jail!"

That was right before the shot that killed him. Don't know if the shooter ever went to jail since he left right after. Now, I do know certain techniques to disarm a gun holder if he's standing close enough, but one of those techniques does NOT include taunting him to shoot.

There was an incident regarding a punk who harassed an officer repeatedly at one of the malls in the St. Louis area. He ended up paying the ultimate price for his stupidity and the officer in question wasn't punished. Turns out the punk was literally begging for the chance to get his behind whupped.
