Wow, I feel so sorry for these kids. I hope they can be reunited with their father and that he will take good care of them and love them so that they don't grow up to be messed up themselves. It's amazing that after all she did to them the older one still tried to hug her goodbye. She should be shot.

Those poor children will be scarred for life. I hope they get the counseling they need and that their father treats them with the love they deserve!!

Assuming that the father is any better parent than the mother.

It wouldn't take much to improve on her. -rc

Around here they wouldn't have released any info on the mother in order to protect the identities of the children.

Muniz isn't all that uncommon a name. And I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that the kids have a different last name.... -rc

Hey - that's not fair. We already have enough worthless muthas in CA. Arizona should keep her.

I cannot imagine any way in which the father could possibly be a WORSE parent than this mother. Speaking as a Californian, I certainly don't want her here.

Assuming she's in the country legally, I cannot imagine a more fitting punishment than locating her prison cell right next to the prison employees' day care center, with no soundproofing. Bonus points for choosing a prison in extreme northern Alaska with no central heating.

Sad. I really feel sorry for the boys, and I hope they can get counseling as well as being reunited with their father. Muniz, on the other hand, should be in a psychiatric hospital once she gets out of prison. If she thinks she'll make it as a stripper, she'd better have a backup plan. From what I understand, most strippers don't last more than a few years in that line of work.

Even though the mother is about 10 steps below minimum qualification for parenthood, I'd hate to think a judge would award custody to the other parent on the basis that he's only 8 steps below minimum qualification. "It is my ruling that the father sucks less than the mother; therefore I award him full custody."

Of course, we just don't know. The father may be an excellent parent, but my point is that the mother's negative status does not automatically confer positive status on the father by default. Still, if he were a responsible parent, why would he have left the children in the care of such a woman in the first place? Hopefully, the court will make a reasoned evaluation before just dumping custody on whoever is available.

It will be interesting to find out about the father of the children. This story should shock the XX chromosome slanted court system, where change is badly needed.

I have 2 sons now in their 20s that the line above about wishing she had had an abortion came out of their mother's mouth every time she got upset with them about anything. She didn't literally abandon them, but did refuse absolutely to let me have custody, and did change 'boyfriends' several times while they were growing up. One has been a heroin addict since he was 19, and the other has severe social handicaps.

I was saddened to know that other kids are suffering as mine did and the attack on the dad was totally uncalled for.
