Ahhh, I can just imagine how satisfying it must be for the cop who gets to say to him, "We got you on video, moron."

@Ren in Alexandria: In addition to the cops reaming him a new one, I can also imagine what will happen when (1) the attorneys for the owners of the housing development get through with him in civil court as well as (2) the local prosecutor's office. I can also imagine he won't have his Jaguar for a while either.

WOW!!! It was nice of him to leave the first fence intact as well as missing the pool, which would have been a HUGE expense to repair and clean up! However, saying that, WHAT AN IDIOT!!! I know his "clouded" mind thought he could explain everything away, but he HAD to notice the blood obscuring his vision from the cut on his head. I wonder what, if any, explanation he had for that! Good thing it happened at night and all he'll really have to worry about is covering the damages and not loss of life... with the Summer as hot as it's been I bet that pool and clubhouse are super crowded during its open hours!!!

I believe he might notice a slight increase in his auto insurance.

You know. Just sayin'.

@Ren in Alexandria: That assumes he can still get insurance through his current provider. Of course, if they cancel him, he could try Lloyd's of London. ]:-)

He has another problem, financially.

There's the car, the fence, the building, court time, tow truck and storage fees... And they have to take out more fence to get to the car.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to go four wheeling?

Ren and Robert: I wasn't even thinking about a vehicle OR its more expensive insurance, because I was predisposing that the not-so-brilliant Edmonds would NOT be driving for the foreseeable future! Hopefully, the Powers-That-Be will have removed his driving privileges for a good long while!

@Patricia in Dearborn Heights: As I stated above, I don't think he'll have his Jaguar for a while. Given he'll probably be facing civil and criminal charges for what he did, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he was locked up for at least a couple of years plus the housing association will probably want (and most likely get) several pounds of flesh from his carcass as well, which will probably leave him in a ton of debt.

If I had a nice jag to drive, I'd sure as heck never drive drunk in it.

I had a very sexy expensive brand new car for six weeks, and was within a half mile of my home, when some kid zoomed back out of a blind driveway, and I had no place to go, even though I left 25 feet of skid marks, and was going less than 25 mph. His car was a big old Dodge or something, solid steel. My car was mostly fiberglass... and he did more than $7,000 worth of damage to my car and less than a couple of scratches to his right rear quarter panel.

He didn't have insurance; he SAID he had just got the car from his father. A lie, of course, he probably had no intention of getting insurance. My insurance paid the repairs off, but the Department of Motor Vehicles will get the money from the kid and give it to my insurance company, if the kid ever wants to drive in this state again. By the way, neither of us had been drinking, and he was 21 years old. But he wasn't paying attention, so he might as well have been drunk.

Oh, goody! The cut on his forehead will make a nice "scar or other identifying mark" for his future escapades, even if he lets his hair grow.
