A Portland, Oregon, bank robber was thwarted last week by two bank tellers with a sense of humor (and emboldened by a bullet-proof enclosure).
Brian Marlin, 44, allegedly walked into a Wells Fargo bank branch and demanded the teller "put the money in the bag." The teller responded that she had no bag, and says Marlin put his hand in his pocket as if to indicate he had a gun. Reports say she could tell he didn't have one.
She then turned to a co-worker and mentioned she was being robbed. Marlin allegedly grew angry and demanded money five or six more times. The second teller, in the humor of the moment, simply told him, "we don't do that here." Perplexed, Marlin turned and left empty-handed.
Police arrived to find Marlin less than a block from the attempted robbery, sitting in a doorway. Witnesses to the attempted robbery positively identified him. He was arrested by Multnomah County Sheriff's deputies and charged with bank robbery.

We'd make a joke about life after the Partridge Family TV show, but "we don't do that here."

Kinda put me in mind of Danny Bonaduce of Partridge Family fame (and currently America's Dumbest Criminals). But then I remember reading that it was a different kind of trouble for him. Still, there's a definite connection between Bonaduce's TV show and Marlin's bumbling attempt.
