Detectives from the Pasco County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office served a search warrant in New Port Richey April 16 and arrested Gerald Hannafin Jr., 42, on charges of marijuana and paraphernalia possession. But when they got inside, they called federal drug agents for help. Here's just part of what they found:

'Magic' Mushrooms - a psilocybin mushroom lab

Processed "magic" mushrooms -- psychedelic shrooms, man. And a lot of them, besides the processed stuff: 2,300 mushroom plants, drug agents say, adding that the psilocybin hallucinogen was being extracted from the mushrooms in the "super lab".

Detectives then did a "knock and talk" at Hannafin's father's house, and found an even larger mushroom lab, they allege. Gerald Hannafin Sr, 68, has not yet been arrested, but in addition to the shrooms, detectives found a "felony amount" of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Police report the two labs will cost about $50,000 to investigate and clean up.

What we want to know: how in the world could they tell he was doing anything with drugs?

Seeing that picture, and all that I could think of was "Hummin' Happy" by the Strawberry Alarm Clock (the group that performed "Incense and Peppermints", not to mention "Pretty Song" from the movie Psych-Out).

Hey, don't knock drugs. If it weren't for flashbacks, I'd have NO memories.

Randy, you asked, "What we want to know: how in the world could they tell he was doing anything with drugs?"

What I would like to know is how in the world could anyone tell he was capable of doing anything with or without drugs!?!
