Doggedly Determined
This very-good-looking chap is Rodger Adams, an inmate at the Osceola County, Fla., jail, being on burglary and grand theft charges.
Well, we have to admit we're not that good of a judge of how handsome men are, but considering Adams's charges, he must be pretty good looking. Or at least have some sort of ...uh... special gift.
It seems that Adams is a jail trustee, which means that because of his good behavior, he was trusted to work on special details. In his case, he was one of six inmates who worked at the county's animal control facility, replacing regular employees to save money. Two jail guards were assigned to supervise the six men.
"This was a situation where the opportunity presented itself and the inmate took it," said county corrections Chief Greg Futch. The opportunity: Adams's girlfriend stopped by the shelter pretending to be interested in adopting a dog. Adams showed her to the rear of the facility, out of sight of the two guards, and the couple allegedly ducked into a men's room to have sex.
"It's embarrassing," Futch grumbled.
"As a result of the incident," said a TV reporter, "jail officials are considering adding cameras and security fences, making animal control eerily reminiscent of the jail."
Gee, but wouldn't it be cheaper to just hire back the laid-off shelter employees? They can be paid the salaries of the laid-off jail guards, since those guys clearly don't do their jobs any too well.

Good heavens, he had sex with his girlfriend while he was supposed to be in jail... I wonder if masturbation is banned in jail too?

My first thought was similar to Steve's. Why exactly is this such a big deal? Shouldn't we be making it easier for people in prison to maintain stable relationships?

When people are jailed, they're not supposed to be able to run out and do fun stuff whenever they want. -rc
