Anthony Giovannini, 35, told police in Trenton, N.J., that he had been having an ongoing argument with a neighbor, Robert A. Wood Jr, 41, over parking. Police were aware: they've been out several times on criminal mischief complaints.

After parking his car on the night of April 29, Giovannini said he was walking into his house when he felt a "thud" on his back. He thought he had been hit by a rock, and turned around to see Wood walking into his house.

But as he turned back to go inside his own home, Giovannini noticed there was something in his back: an arrow. He shouted for help and his girlfriend called 911. He was hospitalized for removal of the projectile, impaled 3-4" into his back.

Police say that Wood shot Giovannini with a crossbow, but they also confiscated two regular bows from his home when they arrested him for aggravated assault and weapons offenses.

I'm a member of a reenactment group. I own both longbows and a crossbow, used for target shooting (lots of fun...). An ethical reenactor would never use these weapons against a person except in self-defense.

Sure is a good thing NJ passed that 1-handgun-purchase-per-month law. Definitely has reduced the weapons violence and made the state a safer place. (But I'm still not walking through Newark at night.)

My comment to Andrew, Maine was meant as sarcasm not violence. I would not waste my time without having a really good cause to do such a thing to another person.
