I think the guy should sue for a hostile work environment - "jokes" about body parts are not appropriate in the workplace. That supervisor should be fired.

As for the scanning machines - well, that's a different topic.

Yes, that's the sympathy we were expressing for Negrin. With supervisors like that, no wonder we get such lousy treatment from the TSA! -rc

That supervisor is lucky Negrin only used a police baton as opposed to something more lethal.

I saw this one on the Miami Herald website. When they say he confronted his coworker later they really mean later -- he endured jokes for months, from multiple coworkers, before snapping. I really do feel kind of bad for the guy. He's been suspended while the incident is investigated, and will probably be fired, but nobody's talked about any consequences for his coworkers' unprofessional behavior.

Also I noticed the Herald couldn't resist pointing out that the police baton he used was expandable.

With the ridicule that he endured from his supervisor and coworkers, I can imagine what they say about their paying customers (and when you fly you are a paying customer...don't forget that) after they go through.

I wonder whether he ever considered going through established channels to report sexual harassment -- or dismissed the option as useless in his organization (sad if true). It's a pity he felt he had to (ahem) take matters into his own hands.

It really is sad but it’s not the first time that there has been similar kinds of harassment dealing with the airlines and TSA. Several years ago a woman out in San Diego filed a lawsuit because she was being harassed and attacked by co-workers and her boss. It took several years and some undercover work before they went to court. She got fired from her job because she filed the lawsuit but she won her case. You would think people would learn the lesson about these thing but they don’t. What’s worse because he is a man they may dismiss most of the claims he makes as "two wrongs don’t make a right." So he gets to look forward to losing his job and could go to jail while nothing happens to the ones that treated him with disrespect.

The track record for the airlines and the TSA is not very good like many businesses they tend to ostracize the victim while rewarding supervisors whom they claim are just trying to keep things from getting out of control.

This story upsets me. I only wish Negrin had been together enough to get his revenge legally. His "supervisor" had a middle school mentality and should/would have lost his job if Negrin had just not reacted so badly, collected his evidence and taken it through the proper channels. I despise people who purposefully hurt other people. His former supervisor is a bully.

What Negrin needs is not sympathy, it's called "A Sense of Humor".

My husband of 25 years (now my ex-husband) was, shall we say, not very well endowed. BUT, he was a confident man with a sense of humor. He himself made "little-dick" jokes and knew it didn't affect who he was. All of this would have blown over if he'd just laughed WITH them instead of beating ON them. He's a cry-baby.

Some people find me pretty, I don't. I make jokes about my own appearance. I also walk with a limp. I've had co-workers seem uneasy around me when I use a cane, so I call myself names, talk about it, let them tease me a little, and then everyone's more at ease, more comfortable, AND, it's not nearly as fun to make fun of someone who doesn't get upset. He should have laughed with them, they'd see it's no fun to poke fun at him, as he doesn't get offended, and ,"Hey, Negrin's pretty cool. I teased him about his package and he said, 'it ain't the size of the ship baby, it's the motion of the ocean' and let it drop."

While I agree with you, an x-ray through clothing isn't much of a way to measure someone's endowment. For all we know, Negrin could be well above average, but lacking in self-esteem. -rc

For all the future Negrins out there, just tell them you're a grower not a shower.

While physical violence is seldom excusable, his supervisor got what he deserved. The newswoman should have been immediately (non-violently) disciplined for extremely unprofessional behavior.

Interesting you assumed the news writer was female. I just checked to make sure: two men are credited. -rc
