The suspects in an attempted apartment robbery in Carroll, Iowa, weren't difficult to match to witness descriptions.
A resident of the apartment complex called police to report two men with painted faces and black hooded sweatshirts attempting to enter a neighbor's apartment.
Police arrived in time to see a car matching the getaway vehicle's description, which they pulled over. Inside, they found two men with amazing disguises that they couldn't take off: they had drawn masks on their faces with a permanent marker.
Matthew McNelly, 23, and Joey Miller, 20 were taken into custody on 23 September 2009, and charged with second-degree attempted burglary. McNelly was also charged with driving while intoxicated.
